10 Cool Things We Saw At The Physical Therapists' Convention

10 Cool Things from The PT Convention
I thought you would like these 10 Weird and Wonderful Things I Saw At The PT Show.

Toilet Lift Enthusiasts
Toilet Lift Enthusiasts - I thought I was the only one, but there were kindred spirits at the APTA convention. Physical Therapists like toilet lifts because toilet lifts let PTs safely discharge patients to their home (instead of assisted living).
This is a synthetic cadaver. All of the realism without the smell I guess. I asked my wife if we could get one as a halloween decoration. She said she will think about it...
OT Influencers in the booth
This is a Pelvic Bra. It is a "Hold It Helper" designed to help women not pee themselves when they laugh or sneeze. If it works, that'd be super nifty.
I even bought an OT sweatshirt
Puppies! Do you want to make a splash at an event? Bring in a dozen puppies and people will line up for hours to pet them. Brilliant!
Maria from Toilet Talk
This is the EZ Step. It is like 1/2 of a step attached to a cane. If getting a leg up the next step is a challenge, the EZ step splits the task into smaller bites.
1080 Motion - These guys were my next door neighbors at the show. They make performance monitoring machines. You strap yourself in and then sprint. It measures how fast and how strong you pull. I asked if you could tie a toddler to it and have it watch them for an afternoon, sorta like a dog run, you know, for your kid. They looked at me funny.
An Exoskeleton! Yes. They are really here. Exoskeletons, like in science fiction. They have arrived for training and very soon for home use. The future is wonderful.
The Ryzer Floor Lift
The Ryzer is a get up off of the floor lift. If someone has fallen to the floor, you can roll them onto this thing and push a button. The Ryzer transforms from a laid out lounge into a tall chair to help them get up onto their feet.
If a treadmill and a bounce house had a baby it would be this. It is used for people who cannot put much weight on their legs. By adjusting the amount of air pressure, they can adjust how much weight is off of your legs. Neato!
Ejection Bed! (not really) - Remember that bed from the cartoons, where if you don't get up for work, it launches you? It is real now. Here it is.
Just kidding. This bed does almost stand you up, but it is used more for therapy than it is an alarm clock. It prevents all sorts of pressure sores and such.

That's it for now. If I see any other nifty contraptions I will be sure to share them.

Thanks for reading my newsletter,
If you know anyone that needs a lift...
