Maintain your independence and dignity with the Dignity Lifts BL1 basic toilet lift. The BL1 is a safe, sturdy, and affordable toilet lift. It helps you keep your dignity and prevents bathroom falls. Dignity Lifts are the smart way to remain in your home as long as possible. The BL1 is our most affordable model.

Dignity Lifts help you get down to and up from the toilet easily. The BL1 Basic Toilet Lift gives you a slow and steady lift back to the upright position. It takes a brief 26 seconds for this lift to get you from fully seated to a standing position. A sturdy base and strong handles ensure you'll be able to do this without the need for a helper.

Features Include:

  • 4 wide feet make it sturdy and stable
  • Dual lifting actuators for strength and reliability
  • Easy to use wired remote
  • Provides 9" of lift
  • Works with 16"-18" tall toilet bowls (most home toilets)
  • 300 lb. capacity
  • Plugs into the wall.

Dignity Lifts prevent falls.Bathroom falls are especially dangerous because there are many hard surfaces. You need a safe, steady way to stand up. Toilet lifts won't leave you lightheaded. The Dignity Lifts BL1 is a steady, safe way to stand up.

When is a good time to consider a dignity lift? One sign you will benefit from using our lift is when you start using a walker. The need to steady yourself when walking is an indication that you will probably also need assistance standing after using the toilet. You should also consider a dignity lift if you have trouble standing up from a seated position. Many customers buy a toilet lift when they are faced with the possibility of moving into assisted living. People we speak with want to stay in their homes. They don't want to move, so getting a lift to help them off the toilet makes sense.

Toilet Lifts Can Save You Money. We try to make our lifts as affordable as possible, and this is our most affordable model. It is also far more affordable than the alternatives. The average price for a room in Assisted Living in the USA is now over $4,000 a month, this doesn't include the cost of moving you in, cleaning up your old house, and selling everything. Another expensive alternative is full time care. Finally, even diapering is more expensive that purchasing a toilet lift.

The Dignity Lift BL1 works with most toilets. It will work with toilets that have bowl heights of 16 inches all the way up to 18 inch bowl heights. The lift adjusts with its adjustable feet. (more info here)

The Dignity Lifts BL1 will likely fit in your bathroom. The lift has an overall width of 23 7/8" and a depth of 27". The toilet nook in houses is supposed to be at least 24" (per building code) so this lift fits in normal bathrooms.  (more info here)

The Dignity Lifts BL1 will fit you. Our basic lift has a weight limit of 300 pounds and the distance between handles is 20", which is as wide as most office chairs.

The BL1 will stand you all of the way up. The lift raises the back of the toilet seat 9 inches. Typically the lift begins at 18" and ends at 27" tall.

Installing a Dignity Lift is easy. It is as simple as removing your current toilet seat and putting the Dignity Lift BL1 in its place. The BL1 is a little heavy, so you want to make sure the installer can lift 50 pounds, but once in place, it is extremely stable and secure. If you don't think you are able to install the lift yourself, we offer White Glove Delivery as well. We also offer installation videos (see below) so you or your handyman will have no trouble installing your toilet lift.

The BL1 plugs into the wall. Be sure the plug is on a GFI circuit (bathroom circuits require this to prevent electrical shocks). If you have a plug near your toilet, maybe one you use for a blow dryer or shaver, that will work. Do not run an extension cord from a different room to power your Dignity Lift. Outlets outside the bathroom are not safe for applications that are close to water. If you don't have good access at the toilet to electricity, you should consider our Deluxe Toilet Lift - DL1 it has a rechargeable battery that only needs to be charged once per month.

Here at Dignity Lifts we are happy you are considering our products. We want to help you Stand Up, For Yourself.

Great for my wife

This thing is a godsend for my wife who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. It is great for both of us if she can be independent in the bathroom.

Hard to keep clean

My mother had a blowout, it was everywhere. Cleaning this thing was a major pain. The whole process was terrible, but at least it isn't as bad as when I used to have to lift her on and off the toilet. She would get so mad at me. I felt like saying "I'm helping you on the toilet and you are going to yell at me???" So I am happy we bought this lift it is a relationship saver, but I just spent two hours cleaning the whole thing.

Nice lift. Great price. Needs and outlet

This is a nice lift. I looked at the tilt lift and that one only attached to the toilet and had no legs. That seemed too wobbly for my Mom, and this one was just about the same price, and looked much beefier.
It was easy to install, it was almost completely assembled out of the box and just replaced the toilet seat. I didn't even need the video or the instructions. Simple.
The lifts really good, but it needs to plug into the wall. My Mom doesn't really have an outlet next to the toilet, so I had to run the cord up and over the medicine cabinet. It doesn't look great, but I wanted to keep the cord off of the floor. I thought about putting an outlet in near the toilet, but this will have to work. I took a star off for that.

Bought for my Mom

I ordered this for my Mom. She needs a little help going to the bathroom and doesn't want to move into a nursing home. We can't afford a full time aid. She has one that helps bather but she had too many accidents when the aid wasn't there. We installed this a couple of months ago and it's been a big improvement. Mom hasn't fallen in a while and she likes it. My kids call it the poopy lifty. They ride it when we visit.

Lifesaver for me, but not perfect

This lift is a lifesaver for me. It allows me to use the bathroom without needing another person. This is great because it has freed me from using pads, which I hated. I am able to control my bladder, I just couldn't get to the toilet without help, so I had to wear a pad in my underwear. It was not fun. The things are uncomfortable and I felt like everyone could see the dang thing. I'm sure those big waffle things are great for people who dribble, or my friend who pees when she sneezes or laughs, but they weren't for me.

This lift is easy to work with. I use it to lift me all the way up, but then after I am off of it, I lower it halfway down, so it is easier to sit on, otherwise it is hard to try to sit and use the remote at the same time.

The cord is awkward. The electrical cord runs all the way across my vanity from the plug to the toilet. It is awkward. That is the biggest problem. I took away one star because they should make the cordless model for the same price as this one.
